Current Applications

The Parish Council receive copies of all Planning Applications in the parish submitted to East Herts Council, and are invited to comment on these.  Such comments are considered by the District Council - either in committee or by a delegated officer - alongside all other comments received from individuals and organisations.  The following table lists applications received by the Parish Council, the date by which responses must be made to East Herts Planning,  comments made by the Parish Council and - when we know it - the Planning Department's decision.

The Parish Council recognise that developing this land is inevitable. As this at present is only "outline permission" initial comments are as follows: The Council is committed to affordable housing however 16 houses seems too many and are utilites available? Adequate car parking is a must for this development as excess cars can not be parked on the adjoining main road. A repositioning of houses is necessary instead of the visually boring straight lines for the adjoining neighbours. Houses backing onto this development (Wicklands Road) would lose a lot of natural light. Finally,the access road needs to be improved as sight lines are limited for drivers.
