Village Hall Rebuild

Throughout 2010 Hunsdon Village Hall underwent a programme of major rebuild, with a new annexe and outdoor landscaping being constructed at the rear of the existing, listed, structure to provide much improved and extended facilities.  Subsequently, in 2011, the existing kitchen was re-equipped and accommodated an internet cafe and village museum.  The new facilities were officially opened on 23 October 2011by Mr Christopher Pickard, nephew of Grp Cpt Charles "Pick" Pickard who led Operation Jericho from Hunsdon to breach the walls of Amiens gaol.  Follow the link here to read more about the history of the RAF in Hunsdon.  The following movie is a record of the rebuild project.  Right-click on the movie and select 'Play' to start; deselect 'Play' to stop the movie at any time. Note you will need a high-speed (broadband) connection because of the file size.
